Last April, Tucker and I attended a show at the Pix Capri theatre to shoot Questions in Dialect and David Karsten Daniels played after them. I absolutely loved the raw honesty, appeal and arrangments of his performance. Both Tucker and I got cds, his first "I got the CD from the show" CD.
Anyway, he played a song called "Martha Ann" that wasn't on the cd we bought but is the second song and first single from his new album Fear of Flying.
Here are the lyrics to "Martha Ann" I transcribed:
Martha Ann,
I don't know that I can
Understand just what you're goin' through
From where I stand
There is no light
That you and your man are walkin' to
And if the world is out on the brink
of the edge of everything that I have ever known
How could I even start to think
That the whole (hole?) of my life is just for show?
Martha Ann,
How can you fall asleep at night
Don't the end of this a-frighten you?
'Cause in my dreams, all the seams
They come apart and there is only darkness
But in the dark
Where is that spark
The little light that you can
put your faith in
I only trust that everything will be all right
A choir of angels' light that you can bathe in
A choir of angels' light that you can bathe in
"Martha Ann" is on David's new CD Fear of Flying and is all self-recorded as are his other albums. You can hear some Southern-isms in his lyrics and a slight accent. As a Southern man, I can dig that a lot.

This video of NKOTB on Arsenio Hall proves just how bad the late 80s and early 90s truly were. YEEEAAAAH BOOYEEE!! Let Donnie D DO THIS!!!!

Bonus 4: You will now have a funky, funky Christmas.
Daisy finally got her own video
Apparently, there is an obnoxious amount of digital pyromaniac YouTubers out there. I do one search of "after effects" and "fire" and get overloaded with results. I had no idea this was so popular. I think it's on its way to being an Internet meme.
Let's take a look at some of the classes of YouTube digital fire guys.
Side note: This is pretty well done. The light on his face is a good touch.
...and finally...
Tuck's 2006 video totally made it to Digg today.
If you're a Digg member, digg it!
Now even Democrats are supporting wiretapping.
Warrantless wiretapping. I'm a firm believer in the slippery slope theory. First warrantless wiretaps. Next, soliders are in your home. Next, you walk around your town, scared to death to live in the police state you call home. Three thousand people is not worth 200 years of democracy and due process. I'm sorry, but it's not.
More on the National Security Agency and this Constitutional absurdity here.
Kelly and I totally got engaged last night.
If you own the flash remotes made by Gadget Infinity (aka ebay slaves), you know they are a great and inexpensive way to fire your flashes remotely and without wires. You also find they're not always reliable.
I've come to the conclusion these remotes prefer a flash with a set of freshly charged batteries in order do sync up correctly. Otherwise, you may find yourself with a bunch of black frames.
So, if you're consistently getting unsycned shots with your Gadget Infinity remotes, make sure you have some fresh batteries in your flash head even if your flash is refreshing normally. You'll get a higher percentage of syncs with full battery power.
I'll keep using these cheap remotes until I somehow justify a set of Pocket Wizards. That will be a while. I have to buy something much more important pretty soon.

What kinna internet is it when I can't find the script to the greatest movie ever, Thrashin'?
If someone can find it, leave it as a comment below.
Thanks!

A fine fellow I used to skate with requested this video from me. It has some Doc*36 Skatepark footage along with some ditch skating.
I can't believe this was made in 2004.. where have the years gone?
Got a Canon EOS system? Make it go retro by afixing a Holga 120 lens on it. This guy has gutted a Holga and built an adapter to fit onto his Canon 20d. Almost like a Holga with a digital back. I might have to do this one. Fire up the dremel!
